Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026 · Applies to the Commit iPhone app and trycommit.io

The short version

  • We collect what you log and what we need to build your plan. Nothing more.
  • We never sell your data or use it for ads.
  • Apple Health data stays out of advertising, AI requests and third-party sharing.
  • You can export or delete everything from inside the app.

Who we are

Commit is a fitness and nutrition app operated by EdithStack Inc (“Commit”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Commit iPhone app and this website, why, and the choices you have.

Questions? Email support@trycommit.io.

What we collect

Information you give us

Information collected automatically

Apple Health

If you connect Apple Health, Commit reads only the types you allow (for example weight, workouts and active energy) and writes only the types you allow (workouts and nutrition). See Apple Health data below.

How we use it

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it to show you ads or share it with advertisers.

AI meal analysis

When you log a meal with a photo or a text description, we send that photo or text to Google Gemini to estimate calories and macros. It processes the request on our behalf and returns an estimate. We don’t send your name, email or Health data with these requests.

Estimates can be wrong. You can edit any meal before or after saving it.

Apple Health data

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Commit, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

ProviderWhat forWhat they receive
SupabaseDatabase, sign-in and file storageAccount, profile, logs and photos
RevenueCatSubscription statusAn anonymous user ID and purchase records from Apple
Apple and GoogleSign-in and paymentsWhat you share with them when signing in or subscribing
Google GeminiMeal nutrition estimatesMeal photos and descriptions

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. In a sale, this policy would continue to apply to your information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records (for example for tax or fraud prevention). Backups that may contain it are overwritten within a further 30 days.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, or to object to some processing. Email support@trycommit.io and we’ll respond within 30 days. We don’t sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and providers with strong security practices. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong Apple or Google account and tell us if you suspect a problem.

Children

Commit isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email support@trycommit.io and we’ll delete it.

Where data is stored

Our providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date and tell you in the app before they take effect.
